It was a script nobody could ever have predicted. What is so often a lazy cliche last season could not have been more accurate. Global events took precedence over the game of football itself and here we are, trying once again to bring some sense of familiarity and respite to the unknown and demanding times we are living through. To that end the Prememento Podcast is back, for it’s fourth season. Picking up where we left off and bridging the gap between today and tomorrow. We’re going to look back at all of the paths in football that led to this point and see where these roads may later lead. After all, the future is conceived in the past and forged in the present.
Having looked at every club, every season and last time around the individual players themselves and how they related to the wider issues and narratives around the Premier League; this time we’re going one step further and look at the personalities and histories of those on the touchline. No one figure has more of a role in the fate of a football club than the manager and the Premier League has seen it’s fair share of characters. Both good and bad, inspirational and revolutionary or inept and comical, there’s a lot to choose from.
Just as we did last year, we’ve come back to the table (well, the beer garden) to kick this season off with ten names. Discover who we’ll be talking about, why they’ve been picked and the momentous events in English football history that we’ll get to go over again, one draft pick at a time.
